Description
Iris ‘Recurring Delight’ is a tall bearded iris cultivar introduced by Larry Lauer in 1998. It features heavily ruffled, fragrant blooms that appear in late spring and can rebloom in late summer or early fall in suitable climates. The flowers display greyed yellow standards with a lavender midrib flush, lavender falls with lighter rims and brown hafts, and yellow beards tipped with lavender. The plant typically reaches a height of 35 inches (89 cm) and spreads about 18 to 24 inches (45 to 60 cm). Hardy in USDA zones 4 through 8, ‘Recurring Delight’ thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soils with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. It is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. This cultivar is also known for its resistance to deer and rabbits, making it a suitable choice for gardens where these animals are prevalent. Its striking blooms and pleasant fragrance make it an excellent addition to perennial borders and cut flower arrangements.
