Description
Cosmos atrosanguineus, commonly known as chocolate cosmos, is a herbaceous perennial native to Mexico. It features velvety, dark maroon to brownish-red flowers approximately 1.5 inches (4 cm) in diameter, emitting a distinctive chocolate fragrance, especially noticeable on warm, sunny days. Blooming from mid to late summer, the plant typically reaches a height of 15 to 24 inches (40 to 60 cm) and spreads about 12 inches (30 cm). Chocolate cosmos thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. In cooler climates, the tuberous roots should be lifted and stored in a frost-free environment over winter to ensure their survival
Sold well-rooted in a tall 9cm pot.
