Description
Introduced in 1867 by Jean-Baptiste Guillot, La France is considered the first Hybrid Tea rose and a landmark in rose breeding. Its silvery pink blooms are large, full, and high-centered, carrying a strong, classic rose fragrance. The plant flowers in flushes through the season on upright, somewhat thorny stems. While its disease resistance is modest by modern standards, La France remains valued for its historic importance, refined form, and distinctive scent.
