The ‘Comte de Chambord’ rose, also known as ‘Mme Boll’, is a Hybrid Perpetual, Portland rose with a charming old-fashioned appearance. It features very large, very full blooms, each with up to 55 petals and an average diameter of 4.75 inches. The blooms are a beautiful rose-pink color, exuding a strong damask fragrance. This variety exhibits a quartered bloom form and offers a spring or summer flush with scattered later blooms. It typically reaches a height of 3 to 5 feet and a width of 2 to 4 feet. This rose thrives in USDA zones 4b through 8b and is recommended by the Swedish Rose Society for northern Sweden. Bred in 1863 by Moreau-Robert in France, it’s celebrated for its compact, neat green foliage and repeat flowering throughout the summer months.
