Red Corkscrew Willow in 2 Gallon Pot

Description

New growth is bright red (especially when just coming out of winter), the older growth retains the wonderful twisty shape, but the color fades to a coppery tan. For most colorful stems (and to control size), I prune liberally in the spring. Willows can grow large if allowed, and I’ll ease my conscience by reminding you to plant away from house foundations and plumbing lines – the roots of larger specimens can be fairly aggressive.
