Description
Penstemon ‘DAKOTA™ Burgundy’ is a compact perennial bred for its rich, glossy purple-black foliage and soft lavender-violet flowers. Developed by Terra Nova Nurseries, this selection is derived from native beardtongues, including *P. digitalis* and *P. calycosus*.
It grows to about 12 to 18 inches tall and spreads 20 to 24 inches wide, with blooms appearing from early to mid-summer. Hardy in USDA Zones 3 to 8, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and adapts well to various soil types, provided they are well-drained.
‘Dakota Burgundy’ is valued for its ability to attract pollinators like bees and hummingbirds while remaining deer-resistant.
Sold well-rooted in a tall 9cm pot.
