Description

Liatris spicata ‘Floristan White’, commonly known as dense blazing star or gayfeather, is an upright, clump-forming perennial valued for its tall, dense spikes of pristine white, tufted flower heads that bloom from mid to late summer. These striking floral displays rise above narrow, grass-like, medium green leaves that form a basal tuft, with stem leaves gradually decreasing in size toward the top. Mature plants typically reach a height of 2 to 4 feet (60 to 120 cm) and spread about 1.5 to 2 feet (45 to 60 cm). ‘Floristan White’ thrives in full sun and prefers light, moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soils. It is hardy in USDA zones 3 through 8. This variety is highly attractive to butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, while the mature seedheads appeal to songbirds. Its strong vertical presence and long-lasting blooms make it an excellent choice for perennial borders, native plant gardens, cottage gardens, and prairie-style landscapes. Additionally, ‘Floristan White’ is well-suited for use in fresh cut or dried flower arrangements.

Sold well-rooted in a tall 9cm pot.
