Description
In some parts of the world, this exotic looking shrub is so common as to be considered a weed (NZ for instance) – here, I’ve never seen a seedling I didn’t sow myself. The shrub grows lush and tall (8 to 10 feet) with hanging panicles of purple and white flowers. The blooms are followed by attractive soft fruit as shown.
Leycesteria formosa is the botanical name
