Description

Eupatorium rugosum ‘Chocolate’ is a perennial that reaches 36 to 60 inches in height. It features deep purple stems and dark green, lance-shaped leaves with a chocolate hue, especially pronounced in spring. In late summer to early fall, small, fluffy white flowers bloom in clusters, attracting butterflies and other pollinators. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, this plant prefers moist, well-drained soils but is adaptable to various conditions, including clay soils and some drought tolerance once established. Its late-season blooms and dark foliage provide contrast and interest in garden beds and borders. Hardy to USDA Zone 4.
