Description
Euonymus fortunei ‘Wolong Ghost’ is an evergreen groundcover with dark green, lance-shaped leaves adorned with prominent silver-white veins. Typically, it forms a dense mat reaching 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) in height and spreading approximately 4 feet (120 cm) over time. When provided with support, it can also climb, utilizing aerial rootlets to ascend structures. This versatile plant thrives in a range of light conditions, from full sun to deep shade, and prefers well-drained soil. Introduced by plant explorer Dan Hinkley from China’s Wolong Nature Reserve, ‘Wolong Ghost’ is hardy in USDA zones 5 through 9. Its adaptability and striking foliage make it suitable for various landscape applications, including groundcover, climbing, or container use.
