Description
Crocosmia × crocosmiiflora ‘George Davison’ is a clump-forming perennial known for its vibrant, golden-yellow, lily-shaped flowers that bloom from mid to late summer. The blossoms emerge from arching sprays of orange buds and are held above narrow, sword-shaped, grass-like foliage. Mature plants typically reach a height of 18 to 24 inches (45 to 60 cm) and spread 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45 cm). This variety thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. ‘George Davison’ is drought-tolerant once established and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies while being resistant to deer and rabbits. It is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 6 through 9.
