This beautiful shrub or small tree is rarely grown in North America. Yellowhorn or Chinese Flowering Chestnut shows off numerous small white flowers (with darker throats) before the finely textured foliage emerges. A slow-growing specimen, but worth the wait. If you have 2 of them, they’ll cross pollinate and bear numerous edible nuts in the fall.
